The sea was angry that day, my friends, like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli

January 30 is Insane Answering Machine Message Day. As soon as I found that out, I instantly knew who I was going to dress up as: George Costanza. Why? In episode 15 of the 8th season, The Susie, George creates an answering machine message modeled on the song The Greatest American Hero so that he may screen his phone calls. For this costume, the hardest thing was trying to create his hair, so I purchased a bald cap and taped some wig hair onto it, it’s not the best, but I think it gets me there. Also, I threw in the golf ball for the costume as a reference to one of my favourite George moments where he pulls a golf ball out of a whales blowhole while pretending to be a marine biologist.
January 29 is Oprah Winfrey’s birthday. Oprah has had many looks over the years, but I have decided to try my hand at thin Oprah from the early 90’s. Specifically when she brought in a trailer of fat to show how much weight she had lost on her show.
Today I take on the user suggestion of Pac Man from Kylie3036. I’ve gone for the main yellow character which I’ve made from putting crete paper over a hula hoop and attaching a string to it so that it can sit around my neck. This is the cheapest and easiest way to make a Pac Man costume.
On January 27, 2006 Nanny McPhee was released. Rather fitting with the current gloomy, rainy, London-esque weather I have dressed up as Nanny McPhee, warts and all. It was almost too easy achieving this look with only the tiniest of makeup.

January 25 is known as Opposite Day. At first the obvious choice would have been to not dress up in costume as a costume for today (woah, catch 22) but after some discussions with a few mates I have decided to instead create a costume where I wore everything the other way round. So I have worn a jumper as pants (you may recognise the jumper from this Day 181) and pants as a top/borello. To be honest, I’ve seen hipsters wear worse.
January 24 is Ed Helms birthday, you would most likely recognise Helms for his role as Stu from The Hangover films. So today I have decided to dress as Stu from the second Hangover film where it is the night after his buck’s night and awakes with a face tattoo. To get the full effect of the tattoo I started off with a red smudged base before doing the black pattern so that it would look like a tender area post needle.
At the request of my dear friend Waller, today I take on the theme Football (Soccer) in honour of his dear friend Rory that sadly passed away last Saturday. Even though I have never met Rory I know first hand how his passing has affected my close friends. From the outpouring of love and support I can make the conclusion that he truly must have been an amazing person and will sorely be missed. RIP Rory Hayward.
Waller, I’m not sure what team Rory supported, but my brother is a Liverpool fan so that’s why I have dressed up as Liverpool player. If he was a Manchester United fan, then I’ve made a terrible mistake and hopefully the thought will still count…
January 22 is Linda Blair’s birthday, so today I have decided to dress up as her most famous role – Regan – from The Exorcist. Please note if you are eating, stop, or come back to look at the rest of the pictures later.
