In March 21, 2006 Twitter, the social networking site, was founded. In celebration of Twitters seventh birthday today I have decided to dress up as the twitter bird. It’s crazy how much you can do with cardboard (mask) and garbage bags( wings). If you’re interested in creating your own bird mask just watch this video.

Today I officially only have 100 days left of this crazy year-long challenge! As some would say – it’s the final countdown! *cue the Europe song* So that is my theme for today – Final Countdown, which makes me think of the song, which then makes me think of GOB from Arrested Development. GOB, or George Oscar Bluth Jr., is the eldest of the Bluth family, who by trade is a magician. The reason why he is linked to The Final Countdown is because that is his performing theme music within the show. I know I’ve said this before, but if you have yet to watch Arrested Development. Get.On.It.
March 18 is Tina Fey’s birthday, so I have taken on that as my theme today, of course dressing as the most well-known of all her characters – Liz Lemon from 30 Rock.
And now for some of my favourite Liz Lemon quotes:
“There ain’t no party like a Liz Lemon party ’cause a Liz Lemon party is mandatory!”
“Lovers.. oh, that word bums me out unless it’s between meat and pizza.”
“Are you sure? Cause I took one of those “Which Gossip Girl are you?” quizzes, and it said I was the dad’s guitar.”
“Okay, fine, maybe I’m a little old-fashioned. I’m sorry I’m a real woman and not some over-sexed New York nympho like those sluts on Everybody Loves Raymond.”
“You can’t be gay for just one person. Unless you’re a lady, and you meet Ellen.”
March 17 is St. Patrick’s Day, a day where Saint Patrick ‘s and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland is celebrated. It also extends beyond religious commemoration and celebrates Irish heritage and culture in general. Celebrations are held with public parades, people wear green and shamrocks adorn all for luck. Lenten restrictions on eating and drinking alcohol are lifted for the day, which is in part why the holiday’s close die with drunken debauchery exists. With this is mind, I thought I could dress as nothing other than a drunken leprechaun today to help celebrate this, the drunkest of Irish holidays in style.
Today is my friends 30th birthday, as a present to her on this momentous day I have decided to dedicate today’s theme and costume to an idol of hers – Kylie Minogue. Now Kylie Minogue has had a long career spanning many different phases and looks, but none more dramatic than THAT white outfit in the Can’t Get You Out Of My Head film clip, which is what I’ve decided to take on today. In order to re-create the outfit I bought a white top and a pair of pants from Vinnie’s, cut in all the dips and then added a circular white scarf to the outfit for the cowl. It’s a dodgy version of the white outfit, but I think that’s what makes it funnier. Hope you enjoy 😉
Me and my chocolate cake and salted caramel frosting
Today at work we are having an interdepartmental cook-off where we are all cooking something to compete against one another. With this as a theme, I thought it appropriate to dress as a chef. There’s only one thing I love as much as costumes, and that’s food. So I’ve cooked a Moist Chocolate Cake with Salted Caramel Frosting. And yes, it tastes as delicious as it sounds.

Today I have a birthday party that is Mexican themed, so I thought ‘what would be funnier than to attend as a chola?’. For those who don’t know, a chola is a female of Latin decent that is one of the ‘homies’ and usually wears heavy eyeliner, dark lined lipstick and a bandanna. I think I pull it off ALMOST too well.
