Day 312: Pat Carroll

Day 312: Pat Carroll

May 5 is Pat Carroll’s birthday. Who is Pat Carroll you ask? Well she’d be the voice of URSULA from The Little Mermaid. The rest speaks for itself…now to go stuff myself with cheese

p.s. To all my Orthodox homies out there – Happy Easter!

Day 194: The Little Mermaid

Day 194: The Little Mermaid

For the final day of Disney week I have decided to end off with a bang and take on my favourite Disney film of all time – The Little Mermaid. Many people have requested separate to Disney week that I dress as Ariel, so essentially I have hit two birds with one stone.

Day 192: 101 Dalmations

Day 192: 101 Dalmations

To even out Disney Week some more, today I bring you a villain – Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians. It took me YEARS to figure out her name meant cruel devil, but once I did, it was like MIND.BLOWN.

Please note this is my natural curly hair that I only had to tease the tiniest of bits to turn it into this madness. Also, to achieve the half white hair look, I just covered half of my hair in baby powder.

Day 190: Tinkerbell

Day 190: Tinkerbell

When I went to Disneyland, all over every store was Tinkerbell. And I mean EVERYWHERE. Personally I didn’t get it, but then again, I’m not a 5 year old girl anymore (no matter how much I love fairy bread). To me she was a minor character from Peter Pan and Hook, but to anyone under 10 she is the newest Disney princess. So to the new generation of Disney lovers I give you, Tinkerbell.

Day 188: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Day 188: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Happy New Year everybody! I hope you all had a magical entry into the New Year, if not, fear not, because I bring to you a week of Disney themes to begin the new year! First up, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, dressing as Snow White.

Snow White is the most influential Disney character for me, for as a small child she was the only beautiful character with dark hair that I could look up to and look like. The film is hella boring, but at the time it was historically significant as it was the first full-length animated feature in motion picture history. So let’s all thank Walt Disney for his contribution to cinema. On a personal note I’d like to thank him for his magical legacy that influence me as a child, as I’m sure many others. Say what you will about how it could of all effected me negatively in terms of stereotypes and  roles, it to this day helps me to see the magic in the world around me and will always have a special place in my heart.

Day 22: Minnie Mouse

Did you know that Minnie Mouse wears yellow shoes? I didn’t until I googled her so I could dress up as her for today’s theme. The things you learn! Another interesting fact, I’ve owned the dress I’m wearing since I was 10. That’s right, I was a child fatty (aren’t we all learning today?) Final note: the Minnie Mouse ears worn above were purchased from Disneyland and worn the ENTIRE time I was there.
